INFORMATION WE COLLECT

A securely hashed version of your password (we never store passwords in plain text)
Optional profile information you choose to provide — bio, location, and vehicle information

When you use the platform we may also collect:

Content you post — builds, forum threads, replies, and comments
Photos you upload to your builds — stored on our server and displayed publicly
Bug reports you submit — including issue type, description, optional screenshot, and optional email
Usage data — pages visited, builds viewed, and links clicked (stored as anonymised IP hashes)

Draft content (unfinished builds and forum threads) is saved temporarily in your browser's local storage only. This data never leaves your device until you choose to publish.

To display your public profile and content to other users
To improve the platform using anonymised analytics data
To calculate trending builds and surface popular content on the site

DATA SHARING

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Your email address is never shared with any third party.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This means anonymised usage data — such as pages visited, time on site, and device type — is shared with Google. Google Analytics does not receive your name, email address, or any account information. You can opt out at any time using Google's opt-out tool. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Your public profile, builds, and forum posts are visible to all visitors of the platform.

COOKIES AND SESSIONS

We use session cookies to keep you signed in. If you select "Keep me signed in", a persistent cookie is stored for up to 30 days. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings.

Google Analytics sets its own cookies to track anonymised usage. See the Data Sharing section above for full details and opt-out options.

We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers.

DATA SECURITY

All passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage. Analytics data is stored using hashed IP addresses — we cannot identify you from analytics data alone. Our site uses HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.

YOUR RIGHTS

You can update or delete your profile information at any time from your account settings. To request deletion of your account and all associated data, contact us at admin@engineblockhq.com.
